The 1Ds Mark III houses a 21 megapixels CMOS sensor that incorporates a new pixel design with on-chip noise reduction circuitry to ensure high image quality all the way to ISO 1600. Within the weather-sealed, magnesium alloy body, the 1Ds is driven by the ultra powerful dual "DIGIC III" processors that process images at 14 bit colour depth for finer tonal gradations. Its strength is more evident with its capability of delivering 5 frames per second for a continuous burst of up to 56 JPEGs or 12 RAW photos. The Mark III employs a high precision AF system with 19 cross type points and sensitivity up to f/2.8, spread out across the AF area to accommodate off-centre subjects. The bright 3.0-inch LCD provides pin-sharp definition whether for review using the 10x magnification or for composing from awkward positions using Live View mode. The 1Ds also includes Canon's built-in EOS Integrated Cleaning System to help reduce, repel and remove dust from its sensor.
